💙 I'm Adopted!!!! 💙
This poor sweet baby was found on the side of the road eating roadkill carcasses just trying to survive. He is in bad shape and will get to the vet ASAP. A huge thank you to Stephanie for stopping to save him , and not just driving on by like so many people did.
She said he was such a good boy for a bath and nail trim. He is very skinny, has a mouth full of infected teeth, and can barely walk with his crippled little legs. But he’s so thankful to be safe and loved.
Also a huge thank you to Luke and Sugar’s dad who rescued me as I was rescuing this kid. My car got a flat tire earlier today when I was taking Sugar to her new home. So I took Jen’s Jeep and we were only 10 min away when it broke down and left me stranded on the side of the road. 😭 The universe was telling me to stay home but I couldn’t say no to this poor guy. Just look at him ❤️❤️❤️❤️
(Note: A lost dog report has been filed by the finder. If this is your dog you will need to provide proof of ownership and proper care in the form of photos and vet records.)

Update 4/20/20:
📌 My Vet visit today:
📌 I weigh 39.9 pounds
📌 I’m probably about 6 years old
📌 I was dewormed since I was found eating rotting dead animals on the side of the road
📌 I have a couple loose and rotting teeth that will need to come out
📌 I need to be neutered once I’m healthy
📌 Bloodwork was sent out , will also test heartworm and tick born disease
📌 Fecal test to be sent out to see what parasites I’ve picked up
📌 My patellas are permanently dislocated , but hopefully some weight gain and muscle mass will help, along with lots of joint support supplements. (Wish list coming soon).
📌 Minor ear infection. Old ear hematoma that isn’t fixable.
📌 Minor dry eye
📌 I’m the goodest boi that ever lived

Good morning new frens!! Da dewormer I got at da dogtor yesterday did da trick .... begone ya parasites. 💩
I started another dewormer today too because I gots lots of worm problemos.... roundworm hookworm aaaand giardia. 🥴 🐛 🤮
*** Remember parasites are not seen by the naked eye in fecal matter unless it’s a severe infestation. These did not start coming out until the meds killed them and they detached and were passed. It’s imperative to do a fecal test during your pets annual wellness and to do one as soon as you take in a new pet. Picking up your dogs feces immediately after they go is the best way to prevent spread of parasites. #doyourdoody #pickupthepoop
(all da grass is because blonde lady immediately digs up da dirt under where I poop so i don’t contaminates her yard).

Pretty sure he could get used to this 💜
City Dogs Grocery can put together curbside birthday baskets for your pup so you can celebrate during quarantine. How cool is that? Well, we asked if they could put together a “rebirth” day basket for Mr Wilson..... and they did not disappoint.
Happy Birthday Mr Wilson. Welcome to your new life. 💙

Alumni Penny got a new Bessie + Barnie bed today and it made us miss the famous mumpee bed of 2011... 2012? I duno. It was forever ago . Our friend DinaMarie won it in a raffle from Carolina Pet Pantry to benefit Bullies 2 The Rescue... Can you believe we still have it?? It’s a bit lumpy now but what other bed lasts almost a decade? We had put it up after Champy passed but Mr Wilson is loving it’s reappearance. |
First time nugs... 💯 /10
It’s #fivedollarfriday!
These $5 dollar Friday’s have been a huge help to our rescue right now. Just $5 goes a long way! Venmo- @hoosierbulldogrescue PayPal- HoosierBulldogRescue@gmail.com HoosierBulldogRescue.com/donate |
Mr. Wilson is getting a bath today because tomorrow is the big neuter day. He’s also getting a dental cleaning. I know we all love that fang, but we need to be prepared for it’s likely removal. It is rotted something awful. He’ll feel much better after tomorrow.
(And yes that’s a little parsley still stuck to his teeth from breakfast).

I can’t wait to be able to really chew up a Benebone in a few weeks and don’t worry da bleeding has already stopped too. I’m snuggled up in bed and I’m gonna sleep dis shiz off. Vin said he’d be my nurse while I'm recovering. |
Update 6/24/20:
Mr Wilson had a recheck today and he's up to 47 pounds! He has one tooth hole where a canine was extracted that collects food and hair now. I just flush it daily and after meals and it's ok... it's manageable. But we’ll probably put him under again to correct it so his future family doesn’t have to worry about it. Other than that he’s doing great. He'll be ready for adoption soon so we are starting to review apps. If you’re interested please click here to fill out an adoption application. Mr Wilson is approximately 6 years old. Obviously he would do better without stairs as he has permanent damage to his hind legs. That doesn’t stop him from figuring out how to get around tho. He will needs joint supplements and pain meds for those legs, and eye drops for his eyes (senior bulldog dry eye)... but he’s otherwise a pretty healthy boy. Gets along great with other dogs. Cats are a work in progress but our cats have had enough of him so they avoid him lol. |
Uhhhh.... boost please?
Can I get a boost please...........
When you get to be as old as dirt, you don’t make plans.... but Lucy’s still here & kickin so Mr Wilson is takin a chance she’s got some spunk for a dance or two. Or maybe just sit out & watch the youngsters make fools of themselves for the TickityTok. The Pawty Crew hosts an annual Instagram prom. Each year it benefits a different rescue.... this year donations were raised for Lonestar Bulldog Rescue. Here are some of our HBR dogs joining in the fun!
