My freedom ride from the shelter:

meeting my new foster momma!

Help me pick a name! Vote for either Tux or Pete on any of our social media pages!
Picture
wow the votes were pretty split! Instagram sided with Tux and Facebook Sided with Pete. Foster momma says I look most like a Petey so .... that's my name!
Picture
I made my way up onto the couch tonight. I could get used to this!

Just wake me when it’s Friday 🥱 -Petey

Petey’s UTI has cleared but unfortunately it left a few struvite crystals & his urine ph is high. He’s getting increased moisture in his diet, & a couple new supplements to get that urinary tract system healthy. Otherwise he’s doing great!

5/6/21- Well I had a good couple weeks on antibiotics, but now I’m peeing in the house all the time again. I’m going back to the dogtor tomorrow to get my pee rechecked and X-rays to make sure I don’t actually have bladder stones
 Paws crossed. xoxo- Petey

5/10/2021 Petey update: His urinalysis did show continued bacteria in the urine, which leads us to believe he just had a really difficult UTI that we need to treat longer. He'll be on antibiotics for 3 weeks, and we'll do another urinalysis halfway through and again after. But good news, no stones/crystals were seen now and his urine ph has finally come down some. He's getting a high moisture diet, lots of fresh veggies, and some supplements to help keep his bladder healthy. Paws crossed this does the trick :)

Excuse me foster momma. I was a very good boi at the dogtor. She said my bladder looks not so angry. And I’m very handsome. Can We please go for a pupcup now ? -Petey (and Doogan)

Excuse me, but I believe there is a section in the fostering handbook that explicitly prohibits stupid bunny ears. Please check again. Maybe it’s an addendum.

I’m also at the vet today … I finished my antibiotics for my UTI, but unfortunately I’ve started having lots of accidents again. And it seems like I don’t even know when it’s happening. So I’m going to get a full exam today, chiropractic care, and maybe even an ultrasound.

My culture came back. Not sure why the previous antibiotic didn’t work but we are starting a new one. Paws crossed this one does the trick.

Fireworks are kinda scary but I found this kid to hug

Petey had a recheck today. Sent off urine for a culture. We think last time there was just a little bacteria still lingering that the basic urinalysis didn’t pick up and he had a flare up right after antibiotics were finished. So this time we’re jumping to the culture to be sure it’s really gone. Otherwise he’s doing great! He’s so handsome and shiny now. And he didn’t pancake to the ground in fear…in fact he tackled me for some kisses and knocked me right on my @$
