Welcome 10 year old Stella.
Due to changes in the home , her family could no longer care for her. She has attended doggie day care so she’s reportedly good with other dogs. Cats unknown yet. Stay tuned for more updates as we get to know her. |
Stella pupdate- I’m such a good girl. I *am* potty trained but since I have to pee a lot, foster mama got me momma got me deez diapers to wear when she’s not home to take me out. and i don’t mind em at all. We gonna order me some bigger washable ones. I also have some supplements on my chewy and amazon wish list. Link in our bio. Fanks besties (and yes we’ll be doing a urinalysis at my vet appt )

Stella pupdate-
likes: All things related to baths… taking baths, thinking about baths, dreaming about baths, standing /sitting in bathtubs (with or without water), skritches, listening to oldies music, napping, long walks. dislikes: standing still while being dried after baths |
Ok i got my Vet appt scheduled - 11/26. The rescue girls got my records and reviewed them. So sad. I’ve been over vaccinated every year, but never any labwork. So that will be first on the list. Labs should be done annually for adults and semi annually for seniors

Stella hopes her furever home has a variety of pillows for maximum napping comfort.

12/31/21 Update - Stella had a cyst rupture, so our vet got us in to check it out. She'll be on meds and we're putting a topical holistic powder on it to try to dry it out. She'll have a recheck in a few weeks. She's a great girl! Extremely well behaved and playful for 10 years old.
Stella is current boarding at Fetch Dog Resort while her foster is out of town. She loves doggie day care! Seniors are often overlooked but this girl has so much to offer. Don’t let her age deter you. |
1/6/22 Update - Stella still wants to lick her cysts (hence the stylish cone of shame). Her culture came back positive for a UTI, but luckily the antibiotics the vet prescribed for her cysts should work to treat this as well. Recheck in two weeks.

1/20/22 Update - Good news, her tear production and pressure in her eyes is all normal. Unfortunately her cysts are not healing the way we would like, so we are likely going to have to surgically remove them. They are benign and not cancerous, but they are starting to bother her. We also sent out a urine sample to recheck and make sure her UTI is gone. |
6/18/22 Update - Beautiful sweet Stella is still available. We’ve had a significant drop in adoption apps lately (as have most rescues it seems). Great dogs like Stella are still waiting for their forever families. Stella is mature but still playful and just an overall super happy girl. She is potty trained - any accidents have been a symptom of UTI and resolved once treated. She’s doing well on Farmina kibble. Her skin and coat look great. She also gets along with other dogs! She loves car rides and walks around the neighborhood. |
10/25/22 Update - Well, folks... Stella tore both her CCLs. And she has a bilateral hip and knee arthritis. Surgical CCL repair isn't recommended since she's a senior with already bad arthritis. We're starting a new pain management protocol and getting cold laser treatment. Will probably also start acupuncture. She would love a retirement home! |
