Hi guys! I'm Penny! I chose the name Penny because I'm hoping it will be lucky!

I'm only  a year and a half old. I'll be 2 years old this August.

I was born with an umbilical hernia, so I was kept in a crate for the first year of my life. I was told I wasn't really good for anything and not worth as much as all the other puppies in my litter.
Finally someone bought me and took me home. But I'm afraid of everything, and I'm also not potty trained because I've only known life in a crate. Every time they tried to take me outside, I'd pancake to the ground and not move!

The couple that purchased me was pretty overwhelmed, so they were going to take me to the local shelter... but their daughter scooped me up and saved me first! She got me spayed, got my umbilical hernia fix, and also fixed the entropion in my eyes! Her and her family loved  me lots, but they have a couple older small dogs who were super scared of me.  I got comfortable and really wanted to play with them. I'm really small  for a bulldog (only 34 pounds), but to them I was huge and scary! Plus, you know the whole potty training thing. I really don't get that - is that really important? Anyway, so they reached out to HBR who said I could come here for awhile.

I got all my vaccines at the clinic yesterday so I'm ready to go to my foster home.

They're sending me with a bunch of potty pads - apparently I'm supposed to pee on those? I guess I'll try it out and see how it works.

This kid Vinnie kept me company when we got back to The Diva Dog House. He's pretty nice.

I spent the night in the closet. It was pretty scary being in a new place. But then Momma Jen brought me downstairs and I'm snuggling with the other dogs watching TV.

** We have already received a lot of applications and interest for this sweet girl and she has not even been with us for a full 24 hours. All dogs are with us for at least 2 weeks to asses personality and specific needs. We post frequent updates on our Facebook page, so we encourage you to follow us on Facebook to know more about each dog.

Penny will be a very special placement given her history. She acts very much like a puppy mill momma. She is scared of everything and will need time to adjust and trust. Please note that sometimes these dogs can NEVER be potty trained - do not submit an application for Penny if you're not willing to accept this fact. **
