🧡 I'm Adopted 🧡
I got to visit Jaxson in the ER tonight! Usually they don’t allow visitors the day after surgery but they let me stop by and meet this sweet boy. When I got there they said he had refused food all day. He has been on a lot of pain meds, sedatives, and antibiotics. But it’s important he eat. So i ran across the street to Walmart and got a variety of snacks (rotisserie chicken, roast beef, cheese and chocolate chip cookies for the staff of course.) It took some prompting and a gentle lift onto the couch before he finally ate some chicken, then some cheese! He’s leaking urine constantly and he has some weakness in one leg, but they’re optimistic this will resolve in time. He’s expected to make a full recovery in terms of his spinal injury!
02/18/20 Update:
He’s doing so well! He really wants to run and jump so his foster family is making sure to keep him super calm (hence why he looks fissed in the photo - he wants to run amuck and do crazy frenchie things haha). He is no longer urinary incontinent and his fecal incontinence is improving. He will get staples out next week during a post-op neurological exam. BUT, he will also need a 2nd consult- because the bad news is while he was at the ER for emergency spinal surgery, they found what looks to be a mast cell tumor It will need to be removed and biopsied |
Jaxson got the staples out of his neck yesterday! He’s doing so well! The surgeon is very pleased with his progress. He is able to have a little bit more freedom to move around the house if he can stay calm. No rough housing or shenanigans. So in other words he can’t be a Frenchie again for a while lol. A huge thank you to his family who helped raise $200 towards his care. The cost of his surgery was approximately $4500. We raised about $2500 at that time and had about $1000 from Theo's fundraising that we used. We ate almost there to cover his spinal surgery costs, but he will need to go under again to remove the mass they believe is cancerous. All donations are greatly appreciated!!

Hey guys! Jax here. I have some AMAZING NEWS. I had my mass removed a couple weeks ago... well the results came back. It was mast cell tumor, but low grade. AND Dr Kruyer was able to get clean margins!!! Wow!!! I mean honestly that’s incredible because it was in a very awkward place on my butthole I’m being weaned off my meds now and I’ll continue some supplements so hopefully it won’t come back. Hope you’re having a great weekend too! |
