WOW where do we start on this one?!

Well for one, she recently celebrated her first birthday! It's been a RUFF year for this girl! She's had bloody diarrhea since the age of just 6 weeks... diarrhea that mimicked Dexter’s blood splatter lab. It literally looked like a crime scene. And she was contagious, which means for months I’ve followed her around cleaning up after her, digging up dirt where she pooped outside, bleaching everything. She’s finally not contagious, hallelujah! And she can finally hold her poop and is no longer incontinent. She’s been out of diapers for awhile now. The last couple weeks have really been a good step forward, but she’s still not having normal stools (I have 262 photos of said poop saved on my computer in chronological order to compare any changes).

Anyway, we completed a fecal transplant and Adored Beast’s Leaky Gut Protocol. She gets a few supplements (Dr Morgan’s Wellness Formula, Source CBD oil, and Carna4Flora4, Adored Beast LoveBugs probiotics, etc). We are making a couple diet changes after consulting with Dr Judy Morgan on Tuesday, September 17th, although she was pretty happy with how we’ve balanced her very restricted diet. We’ve already changed to the protein she would recommend (Rabbit) and she gets several gut healthy foods, plus raw goats milk and kefir from Answers). This diet will NOT change and she will have to be on a very special diet for the rest of her life.

We’re also going to reach out to our vet to do some x-rays of her spine just to be sure we’re not having any underlying issues there that are leading to digestive problems. We are also sending out a BioScent test to rule out any underlying cancers.
Honestly the problem is likely this: GENETIC!! Everyone comments how cute she is BUT that cuteness comes at a BIG price. These “rare colors” / “exotic colors” / whatever you want to call them come at a big cost. Breeders still need to do genetic testing and ensure they are breeding healthy dogs, not just cute dogs. Hermione will NEVER BE NORMAL. That's a fact. Even if we get her stable, she'll likely have flare ups for life. She had an allergic reaction to the medication you give FOR an allergic reaction. Her recent hives incident was very scary because the normal treatment is not an option for her.

She’s not healthy enough for vaccinations. She’s not healthy enough to be spayed. So although we stated she's been on medical hold and we don't accept apps until dogs are ready, apps have been coming in for her anyway. So we’re officially marking her as NOT AVAILABLE until we get a handle on her condition. Her expenses are quite considerable, so if you'd like to make a donation towards her care or even a monthly sponsorship, it's greatly appreciated!
