💚 I'm Adopted!! 💚
Because there’s a million bulldogs already named “Tank”, and he doesn’t really look like a Tank anyway.
I think he looks like a Hank. So... Welcome Hank! I’ve known you 5 minutes I LOOOOVE you!
Hank was adopted out from the local shelter in 2016... he was returned this past Friday in this condition.
This poor baby has been very neglected and it will take a lot of work to get him healthy again..
But with your help we can make it happen!
He is super playful already and just so stinking adorabull…and also just plain stinky LOL

12-28-19 Update
Hank had a recheck yesterday at the vet. His foster has been spraying AnimalEO skin base on his paws and they now look improved. But his back looks a bit worse than last week. So we’ll be using the spray all over his body. Cytology shows less bacteria than before so that’s good. He had some yeast this time tho. We are starting an oral antifungal med $86 WITH GoodRx. Also continuing the antibiotic. We are changing his food from Farmina with Answers Goat Milk to completely Answers Pet Food. This will cost about $60/ week but will eliminate carbs from his diet which is important for a yeast issue. I have also been thinking his skin looks a bit like Pemphigus, an autoimmune disorder. The next step will be to do a skin biopsy. He has a follow up appt Jan 7th. Thank you to those who shopped our Amazon wish list. I’m headed to Hank’s foster right now with the new food, as well as the Manuka honey and some pill pockets from our amazon list.

03/16/20 Update: Yesterday I was having a pup cup. Today I’m having a biopsy #pupdate - Hank had started to show lots of improvement.... we were thrilled. And then he had a big flare up. My gut is still saying autoimmune, so we are moving forward with additional testing (read: expensive & more invasive) but it’s definitely needed at this point. Please consider donating Thank you! |
03/19/20 Update:
Poor Hank. He’s very uncomfortable following his skin biopsy- and looking a little like Swiss Cheese. But we do have answers.... It IS pemphigus foliaceus, which is an autoimmune disease. We’ll work hard to get this under control and get him feeling better. 03/26/20 Update: I was feelin kinda lousy earlier today .... but I went to da dogtor and got my stitches out!! They also did cold laser on my ouchies so hopefully they heal quicker. I’ll keep up on my baths and ointments and will start some Chinese herbs too...#Pemphigus #autoimmune #survivor Also some of my amazon wish list items have started arriving. Thank you so much everyone!! |
04/04/20 Update: Healing with food! I eat Answers Pet Food beef with goats milk, JingTang Chinese Herbs, Firm Up, CocoTherapy™ oil, and bovine colostrum as part of my Pemphigus regimen. Slowly things are coming in from my amazon wish list that people ordered from a couple weeks ago! I know there’s still some outstanding stuff (like the cocotherapy oil). If you sent us something please send us a DM so we can make sure it arrived. Things are of course delayed now with the virus but we want to make sure no one got jipped on ordering me things. I appreciate it so much!! Thank you!!!! |

When you’re on a diet ....but then you see someone has chips.
Hank had a little bit of a flare up when we decreased his meds, so we had to go back up again But he’s in great spirits and still overall looks amazing compared to that poor boy we pulled from the shelter!
