Not even when i gots a long baf wif lotsa scrubby suds to kill da fleas. My tail pocket is super ouchy and i cried a lot when it got washed. I have a huuuge scar on my back dat looks like it healed super tight....my skin is pulled up around it. fankfully i don’t remember what happened. I also don’t remember my birfday so don’t ask how old i am yet. I dunno. I fink I’m ok wif other dogs .... i didn’t try to eat hermione or Vinnie so apparently dats good. I’ll get to da vet ASAP to get checked out and den we will post more information.

Hey there, Delilah girl, tonight you look so pretty Yes, you do Times Square can't shine as bright as you I swear, it's true Also ignore Hermione’s poppy bottom. Delilah pupdate:
I saw da dogtor at Bargersville Vet Hospital and got a really good report card so far- I was pretty nervous so my temp was elevated but I was very good and didn’t try to bite or anything. Everyone was so nice and it wasn’t like at the scary shelter. Dey took some blood, poop, and pee to send in and analyze. We’ll update dat when it’s back. Skin scrape shows yeast and bacteria. Plus I have plugged up follicles. Yuck. So I’m on antibiotics and getting special bafs. I’m probably only about a year old. I’m already spayed it looks like. My eyes , ears, and teef all look great. I’ll get vaccines probably at my next recheck. Since my temp was so high and my body is still working over time from the flea infestation and inflammation, da dogtor wants to wait on dat. I’ll put up a wish list soon of fings i need. Oh and most importantly, i gots a PupCup today. Now i know what all da fuss is about!!!

I have a dogtor appointment tomorrow to recheck my skin and tail, and probably get my rabies vaccine since I’m much healthier now than when I first came in. My skin is way better, but my tail is still kinda itchy. Wish me luck! We’ll post an update tomorrow!
Delilah Pupdate: As you know, Miss Delilah came to us from a local shelter. The staff there were afraid of her & named her Grumpy Pants lol. Well she was just terrified being in a shelter. But she’s clearly been abused as evidenced by her horrible scarring. She’s had some anxiety so we started her on some meds for that & she’s learning to trust again. It’s obviously a process to earn that trust back. She came to us covered in fleas, with hair loss, and skin/tail/ear infections. Her skin is looking amazing! But we just couldn’t get her ears under control. The vet didn’t want to pack them because she couldn't see the eardrum so we didn't know if they were still intact. We were about to culture the gunk to see what was going on because 3 meds were not working at all… and then it decided to just clear up! No bacteria was seen on the slide at the last visit so we decided to just stop messing with them & see what happens. Infection has stayed at bay, but they’re still a little waxy and very red. So we’re wondering if she still has a food sensitivity. She did not do well on beef, so we moved her to Farmina Cod. Her skin looks great on it, but those ears are making is think there may still be a better option. If your dog has chronic ear infection - check the diet. We just started her on a raw diet and we’ll see how those ears look in a couple weeks. She’s also been limping a bit; which may be due to the tightness of the muscles around that scar? She doesn’t appear to have a soft tissue injury. She had a Chiro adjustment last week & the vet said her spine is pretty jacked up. We started her on some good joint supplements & she’ll go back for another adjustment.
Her foster momma is also giving her massages at home to keep those muscles loose.

Delilah update:
Last week Delilah was sedated so she could get full body X-rays done. Her ears were also flushed out really well and packed with long lasting meds. X-rays and exam actually didn’t show much in terms of joint or muscle issues, so we don’t know why she is limping and she’s having moments where she seems very disoriented and snaps at those around her. The amazing Coryelle Kramer connected with her today to see what was going on. She didn’t feel any major health issues going on. Just a lot of emotional stress. She recommended a couple flower essences which are on the way. We will work to try to make her feel safe and secure. This poor girl has been through so much. We will also keep up the chiropractic care and cold laser to keep those muscles around the scar from tensing up. |
