Special Needs?

Mumzy was found as a stray, and is extremely emaciated. The shelter was unable to locate an owner due to his chip being not up to date.  When his legal stray hold time was up, no one had come forward to claim him. Because of his extreme body condition, the shelter sought out rescue to provide medical treatment and save this boy.

It's unknown how long he was a stray but he appears to have been neglected for quite some time. His body has been in starvation mode for quite awhile, so we must introduce a low fat diet very  slowly as to not overwhelm his internal organs. He is on probiotics and antibiotics.

Mumzy's shelter intake photos. They're so hard to look at. All you want to do is hug him, but he is so malnourished and weak you don't want to hurt him by squeezing too hard. We just keep promising him that things will be different now.

We won't let you down Mumzy!

We got Mumzy into the vet as soon as we could to do a full work up. His body is in starvation mode. He's now on a low fat diet and probiotics so as to slowly reintroduce food to his body.

Mumzy's foster dad bought him a new couch for his rehabilitation. You need a comfy spot to gain your health back right? Thank you all for your love and support for this poor guy.

Pupdates!

As of mid-April, Mumzy is now up to 45 pounds. But he is still underweight. We are still working on getting Mumzy's weight to a normal healthy level, but he is really loving rescue life and already looking so much better!
