Howdy folks. I'm Cowboy Bosco.
I have an interesting rescue story. My dad reached out to HBR on Facebook to surrender me a couple months ago. He was directed to the website to fill out an application, but never did. He ended up giving me away - pretty scary cuz we all know how that can go. But what do you know, I ended up with an amazing family who took me to the dogtor and got me medicine for my skin infection, my ear infections, and my tail pocket infection. They did a heartworm test (negative! yea!) and I got my rabies vaccine. I still need to be neutered and get up to date on some other vaccines. The thing is - I don't like to be handled much. I love to snuggle and play, but.... the whole look in my ear and poke at my butt and clean my wrinkles business- I'm not having it. This was kinda scary for the family. They had young kids and , well, I don't really know when enough is enough. I get a little mouthy. I like to play rough. So they reached out to HBR via a surrender application! A couple ladies from the rescue came to meet me and said I'm not really aggressive, I'm just in pain from all the infections! I kinda get carried away with playing... I need a family who can remind me to knock off the shenanigans and behave. So I'm probably too much of a handful for a family with young kids. I'm good with other dogs though. Love me some playtime. I met a cat once - he seemed ok. I'm about to be fostered with a cat, so I'll let you know how it goes!
I've only been in rescue for a couple days now, so be patient as we learn more about my personality/temperament/medical - you can of course fill out an application now if you're interested in adoption. Remember, HBR focuses on matching the right dog with the right family, so there's a process to go through to make sure it's the right fit for everyone. Thanks for understanding!
